Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) celebrated the one year anniversary of its exclusive website for women – www.womanwithdrive.com.au – with a gala cocktail party last night headlined by international tennis sensation and global Porsche Ambassador Maria Sharapova.
More than 200 female Porsche customers with their partners and friends were treated to a special night with Miss Sharapova on the eve of the 2014 Australian Open Tennis Championships, who gave an insight into the drive and commitment it takes to stay a successful elite athlete while embarking on various entrepreneurial and charity activities throughout her career.
The event, hosted by local womanwithdrive Ambassador and television personality Sonia Kruger, celebrated the first anniversary of the industry-leading lifestyle website; developed not just for female Porsche customers, but all busy women with a premium mindset.
womanwithdrive provides women with the latest news and tips in key areas of: Well being, fashion, travel, design and beauty. All articles are researched and written by professional women writers and presented in a concise and stylish format in online and mobile formats.
The gala event also marked womanwithdrive’s first real major promotion after a relatively low-key rollout in January 2013. Since then the site has attracted close to 2,000 subscribers and has a strong social media presence on Facebook (www.facebook.com/WomanWithDrive) and Instagram (@porsche_woman).
“It was great to have Maria Sharapova here to help celebrate the first of many major milestones for womanwithdrive,” says Porsche Cars Australia Public Relations Manager, Paul Ellis. “Maria’s extremely high level of success both on and off the court for well over a decade proves she is a woman with incredible drive.
“Women are also playing a greater role in luxury car purchases and are frequently just as busy, if not more so, than their male counterparts. So for these women to be able to access pivotal information on topics that matter in a concise format on a stylish website is quite important.”
Sonia Kruger was a natural choice as local Ambassador for womanwithdrive.
“Sonia is everything most driven women are. She is successful, busy, intelligent, independently minded and has a wonderful outlook on life,” says Mr. Ellis.
“Women today are pulled in a number of directions on a daily basis,” says Sharapova. “To carve out the time to come together and celebrate ourselves and our girlfriends makes for a very special evening and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
