Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., today launched the centerpiece of its Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games campaign, the Galaxy Studio within the Olympic Park, joined by international tennis sensation and Samsung’s Brand Ambassador for Sochi 2014, Maria Sharapova. The Galaxy Studio Olympic Park will enable consumers to interact with Samsung’s latest wireless technology and connect with the Olympic Games. The Galaxy Studio has been designed to offer visitors a chance to get their hands on Samsung’s latest mobile devices to create, capture and share their own Olympic Games experience.
“We invite athletes and fans to visit our Galaxy Studios and enhance their time at the Games through our people-inspired technologies and exciting interactive experiences. Mobile devices have become an important way through which people enjoy the Olympic Games, and Samsung is introducing new approaches for spectators to become active participants of the Games through our technology,” said Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics.

Samsung Galaxy Studio Opening in Sochi Olympic Park is the culmination of the All-Russia Samsung Galaxy Studio On-the-Go Roadshow that traveled across 15 major Russian cities from September to November 2013, aiming to expand the Olympic spirit throughout Russian regions, boosting the excitement and anticipation for Sochi 2014. Samsung offered a chance for consumers to connect with winter sports and athletes through a digital experience.
The Samsung Galaxy Studio in Sochi Olympic Park features interactive demos that put the consumer into Olympic sport scenarios through Samsung devices and technologies, including the official Olympic Games phone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
Visitors to Samsung Galaxy Studio in Sochi Olympic Park will get a chance to test Samsung technologies and experience winter Olympic sports – curling, snowboarding, short track, figure skating and hockey – through features in Samsung GALAXY devices. Famous Russian athletes – members of Samsung GALAXY Team Russia will appear digitally to introduce their kind of sport, and explain rules of the mobile game and the features of Samsung technologies involved in a fun and interactive way.
The Galaxy Studio Olympic Park consists of 16 recycled structures that were brought to Sochi and assembled onsite for use throughout the Games, the Galaxy Studio in Olympic Park will be dismantled and reused at the conclusion of the Games, leaving minimal waste. These efforts are the latest in a series of sustainable activities by Samsung around its Olympic Games sponsorship and larger commitment to building a better global society.
A total of four Samsung Galaxy Studios will be operational in Sochi during the Games: in the Olympic Park, Coastal Village, Mountain Village, and Sochi City.
