Maria’s next two tournaments will be Russia’s Fed Cup tie against France on the weekend of February 5th and 6th. Maria will then play the Open GDF Suez in Paris which begins on February 7th.
This will be Maria’s 2nd Fed Cup tie having played against Israel in 2008. Russia will play France in Moscow. Other Russian team members are Svetlana Kuznetsova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Dinara Safina. The weekend tie will consist of 5 matches (4 singles and 1 doubles) and Russia need to win at least 3 of the 5 matches to win the tie.
On February 7th, the Open GDF Suez in Paris, France begins and Maria will be maing her first ever appearance there. Paris is played indoors and is a Premier $618K event.
