To celebrate Women’s History Month in March, tennis champion, Maria Sharapova is proud to partner with female-owned fashion brand, Veronica Beard, for their charitable initiative, Veronica Beard Gives Back.
As part of #VBGivesBack, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) will benefit from proceeds raised from VeronicaBeard.com sales throughout the month of March, directing them toward the Sharapova Women’s Entrepreneur Program – a cohort hybrid business mentorship incubator for the “Spectacular 7” female entrepreneurs that were selected to participate in program.
Sharapova commented: “Veronica Beard is the perfect partner for this initiative, as we share the common thread of working to empower and embolden female business owners. I’m grateful to the Veronicas for their support of the Spectacular 7 women who are part of my mentorship program through NAWBO.”
Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard commented: “Our mission of empowering women goes well beyond their wardrobes – we’re committed to supporting and encouraging female entrepreneurs and women in business to chart their course and be the movers and shakers of the world. We’re excited to be partnering with Maria and NAWBO for this month’s #VBGivesBack opportunity.”
HOW IT WORKS:
Throughout the month of March, $10 from every online purchase made on VeronicaBeard.com will go to benefit NAWBO and the Maria Sharapova Women’s Entrepreneur Program. There are no codes necessary at checkout and no minimum purchases – at the end of the month, the Veronica Beard team will tally up all proceeds from March orders and make the donation directly to NAWBO.
The Sharapova Women’s Entrepreneur Program consists of 7 Women Business Owners that were selected from a nationwide call for applicants by Sharapova, in partnership with NAWBO and the NAWBO Institute. The program runs for 12 months, and is a cohort-based virtual/in-person hybrid program that includes mentorship, peer-to-peer support, mastermind and educational components to be delivered on a monthly basis by NAWBO and the Sharapova Business Resource Team led by Traub Consumer.
“NAWBO is thrilled about partnering with Maria Sharapova and Veronica Beard, and is incredibly grateful for their support through #VBGivesBack,” said Lynda Bishop, NAWBO Institute National Program Director. “Both Maria and the Veronicas are an inspiration as successful women in business, and we admire their commitment to helping other female entrepreneurs excel.”

About VB Gives Back:
Veronica Beard Gives Back (VBGB) was launched in 2015 to empower the women who make a difference in the world. The program features three pillars of support through donations online, in store, and from sales of the VBGB tote bag. Every month online, we highlight one woman and the cause most important to her by sharing her story and donating $10 from each VeronicaBeard.com order to her charity. In store, we host shop for a cause events, where we donate a percentage of sales made during the event to a designated charity. Our newest addition to the program is our VBGB tote bag, which celebrates our charitable initiatives with 100% of proceeds going back to the online charity of the month.
Founded in 1975, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is the unified voice for more than 10 million women-owned businesses in the United States representing the fastest growing segment of the economy.
