Maria’s run at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, Italy is over after she lost to No.1 seed Simona Halep of Romania.
In the semi-final, Maria lost 6-4 1-6 4-6 in two hours and 23 minutes.
The next tournament for Maria will be the second Grand Slam of the year at the French Open in Paris which begins on May 27th.
In the WTA rankings to be released on Monday, Maria will move up to No.29 with 1513 points. This means that Maria has guaranteed to be seeded for the French Open.
