Maria eases through in Miami

Maria had no problems in the 3rd round of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami as she defeated Sabine Lisicki of Germany 6-2 6-0 in 58 minutes.

The beginning of the match was close as there was a series of breaks and the set was tied 2-2 but the match soon swung Maria’s way as she broke to lead 3-2 and then took the next nine games to take the match.  Maria won the match when Lisicki hit a backhand long.

On Monday, Maria will play Samantha Stosur of Australia in the 4th round.  Maria has played Stosur 6 times before and leads the series 6-0, below are the times they have played each other:
