Maria breezes through in Paris

Maria defeated Ksenia Pervak of Russia in her first round match at the French Open in Paris. Maria won 6-1 6-2 in 61 minutes over the 22-year-old.

The match started late due to rain and was played in cool conditions as Maria scored a comfortable win over the Russian.

Throughout the match, Maria had a first serve percentage of 60% and won 92% of points on first serve and 47% of points on second serve. Maria broke Pervak’s serve five times and won 56% of break points.

In Wednesday’s second round match, Maria will play world no.42 Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria. Maria has played the 26-year-old four times before and leads the series 4-0. Here are the matches they have played against each other:
