Maria’s second round match at the Mutua Madrid Open was the final match of Tuesday’s session but finished on Wednesday at 12.41 AM as she defeated Christina McHale of the United States 6-1 6-2 in 66 minutes.

Maria took the first set in only 25 minutes as she dropped only one game.
