Haute Living: Maria Sharapova Shares Tips on How to Kick-start 2017
With the holiday madness coming to a screeching halt, it’s time to focus on what’s ahead and make a fresh start. Everyone has their own resolutions or words to live by but, in the spirit of reflecting and sharing, I’d like to offer three simple tips that help me embrace 2017 in a positive way.
Make life easy with simple and practical products. It’s not news to anyone that I lead an active lifestyle, with time on the court complemented by dinner out with friends, travel and business meetings. Whenever I come across products that make it easy to transition from rigorous practice to a social setting, I get pretty psyched. That said, I’m absolutely in love with the Supergoop! Barre to Bar Beauty set, which is a smash hit for my active, on-the-go lifestyle.
2) GET MOTIVATED
I could drink warm apple cider by the fire and eat peppermint bark all day long. But when January rolls around and all that delicious food is off the table, I remember about getting back into a workout routine (just the thought is brutal). I’ve learned that, sometimes, all it takes to get the motivation back is to start with something simple. It can be as small as taking yourself for a walk and then coming home and doing a few core exercises. Once your body starts to feel determined, your mind will follow. I like to list my top three priorities and do them first thing—it gives me a sense of accomplishment and motivates me for the rest of the day. So, if your goal is to get a lean body and feel inspired after the holidays, try your best to devote the time to doing it.
Less is definitely more, as far as I’m concerned. I’m a minimalist in how I live, dress and even decorate my home. I prefer a decluttered approach to life and my living space—it allows energy to flow. I have a big appreciation for clean lines and openness.
