Australian season preview

In less than three weeks, Maria will play her first tournament of 2015 at the Brisbane International.

Maria will be the top seed and Ana Ivanovic, Angelique Kerber and Dominika Cibulkova are the other entrants from the top 10.

This year, Maria played the tournament for the first time and reached the semis.

After Brisbane, Maria will take a week off to prepare for the first Grand Slam of the year at the Australian Open. Maria will be making her twelfth appearance in Melbourne and is one of three former champions in the draw having won the title in 2008 playing some of her best tennis of her career. Last year, Maria reached the fourth round. En-route to the last 16, Maria played her longest match of 2014 against Karin Knapp in the second round.

The Australian Open begins on January 19th.
