Arn defeats Maria in Auckland

Maria is out of the ASB Classic in Auckland at the quarter-final stage after she lost 2-6 5-7 to Greta Arn of Hungary.

After the match Maria said: “Obviously I would have loved to play a few more here and be the winner. But that’s the way it goes. You look forward to the next one. That’s the good thing about tennis.”

“Just because I lost doesn’t take anything away from the tournament for me. I would love to come back, absolutely.”
