Maria took top honors as Bing's most searched female athlete of 2012 and finished in fourth place on the most searched athlete list.  

The Bing team today released its annual report of the year's most-searched people, news stories, places, events and more. Microsoft aggregated billions of search queries to come up with a barometer of what most captured Americans' attention in 2012.
