Maria battles through to Istanbul semis

Maria is through to the semis of the TEB BNP Paribas WTA
Championships in Istanbul, Turkey after she won her second match
against Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 5-7 7-5 7-5 in three hours
and 12 minutes.
In the first set both players held serve until Radwanska broke
Maria's serve in the final game to take the set 7-5 in 58
minutes.
Maria broke in the first game of the second set but she couldn't
take advantage as Radwanska won four of the next five games to lead
4-2. The momentum changed as Maria then won five of the next six
games as she won the set 7-5.
The first break of the third set was won by Maria as she broke
Radwanska to lead 3-2. Radwanska broke in the next game to level
the set 3-3. Both players held their serves until the eleventh game
when Maria got the crucial break to lead 6-5 and had a comfortable
hold of serve as she booked her place in the semis at 2.15
AM.
Maria will play her final round robin match against Samantha
Stosur of Australia on Friday.
