Madrid Draw

The draw for the Mutua Madrid Open in Madrid, Spain has been released and Maria is seeded No.2 and will play Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania in the first round.  Maria has never played Begu before.  The first seed Maria can meet is no.15 seed Jelena Jankovic of Serbia in the third round.

All of the top 10 are playing this event which is one of the four biggest tournaments on the WTA tour.

Madrid is a Premier Mandatory event and this year for the first time the tournament will be played on blue clay.  Maria has played this event twice before and her best result was reaching the third round last year.
