The draw for the Qatar TOTAL Open in Doha, Qatar has been released and Maria is seeded No.3 and has a bye in the first round.

In the second round, Maria will play either Fatma Al Nabhani of Oman or Caroline Garcia of France. Maria has never played Al Nabhani and has played Garcia once before at Roland Garros in 2011 and won 3-6 6-4 6-0.

The first seed Maria can meet is No.16 seed Sloane Stephens of the United States in the third round.

This is Maria's third appearance at this Premier 5 event and she is unbeaten at this tournament as she won in 2005 and 2008.
