Brisbane 2013 Draw

The draw for Maria's first event of 2013 has been released and she is seeded No.2 at the Brisbane International in Brisbane, Australia.

Maria has a bye in the first round and will play either Roberta Vinci of Italy or Jarmila Gajdosova of Australia in the second round. Maria has played Vinci twice before and leads the series 2-0 - both were straight set wins on hardcourts in the US. Against Gajdosova, Maria also leads the series 2-0 and again both were wins in the US on hardcourts.

This is Maria's first appearance at the $1M Premier event and is her only tournament before the first Grand Slam of the year at the Australian Open in Melbourne which begins on January 14th.
