Current WTA average rating points per tour, for what it's worth. Not sure if it's a meaningful stat or not, but sort of interesting:

Sharapova  475

Vika  474

Serena  353

Kvitova  347

What's-her-name from Poland  337

Na Li  259

Stosur  258

Caro  235

Petko  200

Bartoli  190

Zvon  165

Hello Val my love. I had a browse through Facebook at some of the comments. She really whipped up some shit with her comments about loving facials. I had a good chuckle. The site wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for the 6 million muslims who infest it. I'll stay here...it's safer for me and safer for them. I wouldn't want them to think I was a racist.

Anyway, For info, in an interview a couple of years ago, Serena said that she had never forgiven Maria for stealing her Trophy at the 2004 Wimbledon GS and preventing her from doing the Treble. And, as a result, every match against her is a Grudge match and revenge for robbing her. All I can say is 'Dont make her Angry Maria, you wouldn't like her when she is angry.

Thank you for graciously welcoming me to the forum.

I'm not sure what this uncapitalized run-on sentence means, "no problem it's so normal [?] you are an amateur," but I can offer that non-amateurs refer to what's-her-name as Aggie. Just say "Aggie" and the non-amateurs will know who you mean.

By the way, if there are "amateurs" here I assume by extension there must be "professionals." What's a professional forum-poster? Is this a good way to make extra money? I'd be curious to hear. Always looking to pick up some extra change for beer and cigarettes.

Good-bye.

No Mushy, the term 'Amateur' is not refered to in that sense. It's the difference between those posters who think Maria is the only tennis player in the world and know very little about tennis in general, and those who are genuinely interested in the sport as a whole and follow all tournaments and the performances of other players. In that way one can get a good indication of the kind of opposition Maria might be coming up against and new and upcoming players who will be making an impact on the sport in the future. That's us 'Pros' who follow the fortunes all most of the players on the Tour.

There's no money in it.

Got that?

Philli!!

I know about that interview, and I know how much Serena hates Maria for this, but still, Maria should get over with her Williams issues and just do it!

And how about todays match? Well the first 3 games Maria was simply playing the WORST tennis I have ever seen her play. She was so bad that in fact, Anna didnt have to hit any balls to actually win the games.... Maria simply double faulted most of the time. And when she wasnt double faulting, she simply was ... faulting. She looked absolutely horrible.

But then she somehow pulled herself together and started playing tennis. And when I say tennis, I mean really good tennis. Yes her serve was all over the place still, but she hit some mighty winners out there. She started hitting the ball like she should be hitting it and took the game back into her control.

When she has to play good, Maria really can do pretty things on court. Her biggest flaw -to me- is still that she is erratic, and incosistent. It is like she enters into the court and if certain things dont work out for her, she just cant accept it. I mean today, her serve obviously was not working... AT ALL... and yet she kept pushing herself to make the perfect serve... the perfect placing, the perfect speed... girl... you cant... NOT TODAY... get it over with. Try and make your life easier by taking smaller risks with your serve. In fact that is what Thomas tells her all the time. But she is stubborn. Today, fortunately, she accepted the fact that she cant serve for the life of her, and instead forced Anna to some amazing rallies and some exceptional serve returns that crippled her.

That is what you have to do. When certain things dont work out for you, simply adapt and force yourself to do the things that actually work for you that day.

I hope she has enough fuel for the rest of the tournament. I was afraid that M`ria was going to be destroyed today, but she really turned it all around and my hat is off to her, as long as she stops being so stubborn sometimes!

Williams recalls Serena Slam, talks Nole Slam

Ticker - Thursday, May 17, 2012

Serena Williams says she wasn't nervous heading into the 2003 Australian Open, when she was looking to complete her "Serena Slam" (four straight major titles but not in a calendar year). "Well, I just felt so confident and I thought nobody would beat me," she told reporters in Rome. "I was heading to Australia but it was on hard court and that's a good surface for me, but I think I had a tough tournament and my first match I almost lost but I just kept fighting."

Serena added that if Novak Djokovic pulls off the "Nole Slam" in Paris, she will be impressed. Djokovic has won the last three majors, dating back to 2011 Wimbledon.

"It would be unbelievable," she said. "I don't even think Roger did it. If Novak does it then he can join my club and we can be best friends."

"I'd love to open a tennis school for children in my hometown of Sochi." said Sharapova Maria.

I am just glad for Maria that she won her match today against Ana. Maria looked lethargic and I had this feeling that there was something not right with her. Like something bothering her. I hope she will have enough gas to last the tournament. I noticed her Japanese trainer is not on this tour. He helped with her movement in Stuttgart.

Tomorrow's match against Venus will require focus, energy, tenacity and movement. I know you can do it, Maria. One match at a time.

Now that Vika and Aga are out of the picture, it looked like Serena will be in the final again. Who will be her opponent? Anybody but the Williams sisters please.

Maria Sharapova has more chance to defeat Venus according Masha's recent results and WTA ranking. But any match is special and each tennis player should be carefull. Masha should win this match.

I was discouraged by the recent defeat of Masha against Serena because her results and WTA ranking were better than the Serena's one.

I don't understand really what happened at this match. For me Sharapova should have defeated Serena at Madrid tournament.

Serena's victory at Madrid Tournament looks unreal.  Serena defeated all the best tennis players.

Serena plays a physical tennis, but a good strategy can stop her. Stosur showed it recently in Canada.

Maria has to find a strategy which can stop Serena Williams or it will be difficult to win Roland Garros this year.

"I'd love to open a tennis school for children in my hometown of Sochi." said Sharapova Maria.

Maria can beat Serena because Maria is younger than Serena, so Maria can run more than Serena!

Serena is a top player but Maria is better than her!

Greetings from Italy. I'm Italian and I think Italy it's the country where Masha have more fans, together Russia and USA. You will see today in the match against Venus Williams all the spectators support Maria! In Italy we support Maria also when she plays against Schiavone or Pennetta!!!!
