Whoa nice article, but no1 in the world in the end of the tour.... hmm not that it is impossible, but I find it really hard, a lot of stuff has to happen, some of which, completely out of Maria's hand! But am I hoping for it? You bet!!

Oh, and assuming top seed Voskoboeva defeats Feuerstein, Galina must then try to eliminate either Bratchikova or Beygelzimer in the Qualie Final.

Here it is: MARIA FIRST PLAYS PENNETTA, then Peng or Görges, Seeded for Kvitova in quarters. VIKA draws Serena in 1st round.  Lisicki gets Venus.

Now, I MIS-SPOKE.  Pennetta is the first SEEDED play Masha meets.

Likewise Vika vs Serena.

full draw posted.

Masha's track: Heather Watson, Yakimova are easy dismissals-- THEN Pennetta. 4th round is speculative. Maybe Julia, maybe not.

Vera's Quarter: Yeah, I would say SIX Russians PLUS BOTH Bondarenko Sisters is a Russian Quarter

Shame that Heather Watson has to play Maria in the first round. I would really like to see Heather make progress but what bad luck to play no.3 seed and hard hitter in your first round.

On a happier note, thank God Serena is NOT in the same quarter this time. Phew! The toughest in her quarter is Kvitova. Now we'll wait for the OOP.

Need to prepare myself for late nights/early mornings again next week.

Thanks Paul for the update !!  Not bad at all . If Maria plays like Cincy, she will get very far ! She has a bone to pick with Kvitova . In case you do not know, she lost a match against her in July . Never two losses in a row and Vera , well piece of cake . No serious now, thank God she will not meet Serena in 3th or 4th round. Vicka is not in form so I think Serena will get far. As Maria always says , one match at the time and I hope she can give it an other shot in a GS final !!

Thanks for Maria practicing video!

Even from that angle you can clearly tell that Maria is hitting the ball very nicely! The new team is doing wonders for her! Also, fresh from her win in Cincinnati, she seems to me that she is really motivated and pumped up for this! So go Maria! Will keep you posted if anything new comes up! :)

Yep, i like the draw to. Looks really good, and the Cincy title should boost her confidence, so all in all it looks good. Now there´s only waiting for that first match, really looking forward to that. Let´s get the ball rolling.
Good luck with the preparations Maria and best of luck with your first match at the uso.

Great practise video by the way, i´ve seen there is some hurricane making it´s way toward the big apple, to me it seems like it´s allready landed, hurricane Maria.

I won't get all orgasmic just yet. A qualie "draw" that first seemed benign turned out to contain a definable component of Russia-and-friends mutual self-elimination.

And ANY main draw that involves a "Russian Quarter" is designed. Vera's quarter contains more Russians (including or not the near abroad) than the entire top half of the draw.  That's bullshit.

Oh, they've worked hard on this one because their habitually fixed draws have been called into question via ESPN. But I'm not gonna condone a tainted product just if "my girl" seems to get off easy.

And more shoes are gonna drop. Stay tuned.

Well, her draw "looks" easy. But dangerous floaters lingers around. Penneta is there. Petra Kvitova is there.

Well. I know Maria can bring her A GAME for the open.

Just hope that they'll work on her consistency on 2nd serves. The speed of her 1st serves are looking good, clocking it up to 113 mph at Cincy. Her second serve is REALLY good, she hits it at around 90+ mph even up to 1o1 mph :) She just needs to be a bit more consistent, then she's good. Just worrying about the hurricane, wind might affect some of the matches.

Anyway God Bless Maria!

The draw seems okay but as we know Maria, sometimes ,she can fall easily to some unknown from the begin.

However, good luck !!!!

(I would like to get surprised by good results.)
