Next round: Kirilenko vs Serena, Beauty & the Beast

Tsonga & Dimitrova in first game on Court 1 when Rain came.  Hope delay won't be long.

15:51:  Court 2 covers are off!  The sun appears to be out again and they have started to remove the covers on Court 2 at least.

18:05 Play resumed on Court 1. Halfway into 2nd set of probably at least four sets.

I'm not so sure anymore if Maria will play today ! Expect Tsonga for an other 2 hours on court. Then it will be 8 pm. Don't know if they still want to start Maria's match or maybe they reschedule the court. Why on earth do they start at 1 pm on the show court in a country that is daily hit by rain / showers / snow / thunder / sun ??

Thanx, Brebis. They gotta consider their crowd who want to see Robson in one sitting. Expect the reschedule will be on Centre.

Klara Zakopalova upsets Safarova in three. Will next meet Masha after Robson.

Lot's of surprises in Maria's half of the draw !  Seeds Safarova and Li are out after Stosur who left already. Well, Serena is still there. The only one , to my knowledge, who can brings her down now , is Bartoli. Expect 1st match on Centre Court for Maria tomorrow, as that match needs to be played tomorrow ( roof ) . Unfortunately I'll be at work.

Rus in the 3rd Round:

(Expect Masha after Friday; possibly also Yakimova of Belarus) to join:

Kiri, Pervak, Petrova, KatBondi, Vika, Zvonareva, Kuzi--note Svetlana must meet Wicky, another on WTA's shit-list.

But the choicest progression so far: Lesia Tsurenko had to defeat a compatriot to be the only Ukrainian allowed thru the qualies. She was set up to fall in the first round to Pavlyuchenkova. Then Nastia was eliminated by Petrova, who must now face KatBondi, the only remaining Ukranian in the main draw.

"...it just happens this way..."  Not.

Wanted to see Maria get her match completed today but the conditions were not the best and hopefully tomorrow's weather will be better. Looking forward to seeing this, c'mon Maria!

What the hell is she doing at the moment against Robson?

That interview with serena w, where she said: it's not fair we have to play on court 2, come on, grow up woman.
It's monkey business.

Hope MaSha wins agianst Robson, can't see it at the moment because of work.

Last time, I don't believe that mutch about the tennis matches, I think most of em sere sold.

Well. That was a good excercise for Maria.

During the first set, she was really tight and her serve desserted her a bit. But somehow, her groundstrokes save her.

During the second set she started playing more aggressively and serving so good!

Her next opponent is dangerous as well. Someone who plays first strike tennis. Tough match ahead!

MARIA 7-6 6-3.....

Phew!!! I KNEW THE 'HOME CROWD' would inspire Robson.  That was a tough one, Maria's  next match is tomorrow against Zapokalova, who has had an extra days rest.....as has Serena Williams btw......

Maria did not play her best tennis today. Too many DFs again!!! She cannot afford to keep doing that as the tourny progresses. It was too nervous for me to watch the first set.

Well done in round 2, Maria.

Good fight from Maria. However I didn't like her game too much today. She must improve if she wants to stay longer in the tournament. Playing this way she would have lost to Wozniacki.

Good luck for her next match, which is supposed to be played tomorrow. Let's hope it's played on Centre Court. Although if she plays like she did during most of the first set of today's match then I may be praying for some pouring rain to fall down lol.

Surely she showed Robson who is the Boss....   I always say that left handed players are tougher to beat so I believe.  Maria played her game keeping the nerve.  Good game congratultion Maria good luck for next game.

Phew! What a relief Masha pulled through. From the start she didn't look comfortable and played nowhere her best but champions find a way of winning when they don't play well and she did just that. Hopefully she will improve tomorrow.

She is first on Court 2 at 12pm.

I think some you lot should give Robson a bit more credit, she played really well today and was unlucky not to win the first set, but ultimately Sharapova just had too much for her. Still expect her to improve into next week and make it to the final. I'm sure she won't be moaning about being on court 2 tomorrow, unlike some.
