Bartoli can kick Serena out, hope so.

Playing against Serena: Let her run run run run from the left corner to the right corner, don't play her racket, most of the time she's building in lot's of rest before she kicks her first ball, OK, most of the time an ace :s
Easy said while watching TV with a coffee and some goodies.

I'm putting my faith in Bartoli to win tomorrow. She is quite eccentric on the court with her odd routines but they seem to work for her. She also seems to be very fit despite appearing to look like she'd be exhausted after 2 points  I can remember watching Marion in total dis-belief at RG a few years back when she managed to eat a WHOLE banana and drunk half a litre of water in between games

Anyway, as for the tactics against Serena you are spot on. Make Serena run from side to side, short angles and drop shots will do the trick, keep her off balance. Bartoli can be relentless at times with her groundstrokes, she has to be tomorrow.

It would be a disaster to have another Williams final here, the BBC would love it though as that is all they spoken about (when they are not talking about Murray of course)  The sooner those 3 lose the better.

with English, they take pride in whoever English(or Scottish in Murray) player they have. They don't even have that much talent as the other European countries have. very annoying to say the least. They just can't help it especially with Murray's semifinal debut in RG, but with such redundant headlines it's almost too bias for other players like Tomic, Tsonga and Lopez who are also playing great tennis in the first week.  They can't even give an outright comment about the court assingment debate.

Bartoli is defintelya slugger, she may not cover the court that well but she is indeed relentless. I can still remember that semifinal match between Henin in 08', how she manage to get her way through the Finals.

You should see the face of Davenport, Jager, Becker, McEnroe if the commentators start ones again about the Britsh players. It's good that in week 2 there is just one left , ppppffffffffffffff.

LOL! Gratified to hear that not only Yanks have to put up with this. Sunday highlights -- NBC stuck largely with the guys but ESPN2 was an unremitting mantra of Ah, sisters... the courage... the humanity... until we were ready to puke!

About an hour 'til Masha! Davaiii!!!

Of the eight Round of 16 matches, the only one showing no stream is Pervak-Paszek. Court 14 has streamed before, so what's up with that?

Obviously, broadcasters suppress coverage of another young Russian vying for the quarters.

But I think also the mouthpieces avoid too much discussion of admitted blood-doper Paszek, whose 2009 case was swept under the rug while they go on endlessly about Wickmayer's "whereabouts" bull.

See how they do?

Today Maria was fantastic, she was too strong for Peng. 27 winners, 80% of winning on first serve and only 10 unforced errors. She raised her level for the 2nd week, now is wait and see if she will face Caroline Wozniacki or Dominika Cibulkova.

Congrats Maria for that amazing performance!

Victoria Azarenka and Sabine Lisicki are also in the 5th round. They are also playing some great tennis!

Yeah. Maria raised her level today. The DFs are still there to haunt her but her winners took care of things.

Good luck tomorrow, Maria. I hope she plays the bunny as the last time she played Dominika she lost. Not good memories.

Excellent match from Maria! Her serve and groundstroke didn't desserted her! One of her best play since round 1.

What impresses me is her groundstrokes. She was just ripping it corner to corner without missing that much!

Impressive statistics and display of tennis from our Maria! God Bless her on her quarterfinal match against "CAROLINE WOZNIACKI/CIBULKOVA"!

MARIA SHOULD SERVE LIKE A MONSTER in this match. She definitely won't have the advantage when she get's into a long rally against Dominika. She should take control right at the first strike here. I just don't know what to expect this time'

That sudden upsets made Azarenka the highest seed left and Sharapova the second highest

Vika should dispose of that annoying Paszek with little trouble.

Masha & Dominika are 2-2 but remember: that is ALL on CLAY

Now this grass advisor Volchkov may earn his pay.

I agree Lisicki has been playing well. But now understanding how tenuous is her mental balance, I assume Marion will come through.

Yes very solid match from Masha, especially from 4-4 in the first set on. Upped her level and never really let up in the second set. She will need to be very good tomorrow against Cibulkova, as she can give her trouble as we saw in their previous match beat down of Masha. Still rather have the energizer bunny tomorrow than the Princess, so it's all good news. Cibulkova will have to serve lights out, as Maria will definitely be looking to punish!!! And no more Williams sisters!!!!! Yes!!!!!
Go Maria!!
Masha is my #1!!

I can't believe Marion did it. Congrats to her and to Maria. Now these two are destined to meet in the semi. I don't think Cibulkova and Lisicki are able to stop them from playing their semifinal.

In the other half, the road to the final is straight for Viki.

Could be an all-Russian final, if Belarus is considered as part of the Great Russia.

Edit to add comments

For princess Caroline WTA#1 Wozniacki, it sounds like she will never reach the quarterfinals at Wimbledon

and will never win a GS. Will it make her more humble?

Fab to see both the Williams sisters go......but this Wimbledon is wide open now, every girl left will think they can win. Maria did well today but tommorrow will be a tough one....there is a lot of work to do yet, and anyone who gets past Wozniaki has got to be respected......
