yeah, i'd love to see her there :)

but, i'm not expecting it tho.. that way i'll be far more happier when she reaches it and, on the other hand, not get disappointed when she doesn't [;)]

Yeah, I watched the match. I answered giane on another thread "Kiri played exceptional tennis in the 1st set, not so much in the 2nd, pretty good in the 3rd but Princess won 16 61 64. Frankly, if Kiri could have found just a bit more willpower, she would have taken it."


She was looking great, though! [:D] IMO, the Stella McCartney break-up didn't hurt her couture a bit. As at IW, Igor was in the box with her dad and, seated next to Yuri Kirilenko was a blonde babe who went unidentified by commentary. I don't know if that was her mum, step-mum, dad's girlfriend--just dunno. I've never knowingly seen Kiri's mum.


But something bothers me: In less than an hour, she & Radwanska went out and beat Clijsters & Flipkens in doubles! Took it to 62 51 in a hurry. Yeah, the Belgians then did one of those dodgy comebacks I hate so much & it had to finish 62 75, but still.... Clijsters?


How does that work? She can't quite hold it together to finish spanking Princess but she can slap Kim around later?

ahahahahaha!! you really made me laugh w/ this one! [:)]

 

About the Stella McCartney thing - I totally agree !! If you ask me, I prefer her "normal" outfit, rather than the Stella McCartney line.. I'm not saying the line was bad, but still - i really really prefer seeing her in this one!

Lucky! I'm out of TV coverage like totally [:'(] My landlord's son canceled half of the channels for whatever reason, BASTARD! [:@]

Khm, anyways, I don't think I've ever seen Kiri's mom either [8-)] Now she really is a mystery to me... [:^)]

Erm.. Truth be told, I'm not all that surprised about the doubles part. I was hoping she'd beat Wozni in singles, especially after I found out she won the 1st (that was weird tho, I mean 6-1 -> Wow!!), but Kim in doubles doesn't strike me as that much of a surprise. I mean, really, Clijsters didn't have (as far as I know [*-)])much success in doubles (I'm referring to the 2nd career, of course), and Kirilenko isn't bad, so...

But dammit, as much I love Kiri, I hate Aga! [6]

A note on your lack of access. MANY of the matches can be seen online, y'know? In this case, I was watching that for-pay TennisTv.com (unavailable in Europe). Now, that was okay until about midway the third set when TTV crapped out. But I was able to quickly catch a Eurosport stream thru http://www.livescorehunt...es/Livescore-Tennis.html and found the Eurosport image was actually superior to what I'd paid for. All this stuff is listed on the Live Streams thread. You might give it a shot. [H]

i used justin.tv a
couple of times, but back then i had all the necessary channels so i
figure it had to be for just a few matches. seems like now i'll have to
get used to really using live streams! a big thank you for the refs!! [8-|]

Dunno. K in Cyrillic is "K", employed in most places where we use a hard C, as well (Amerikan). "C" is our Latin S or "es". Now, you understand that Kirilenko is a Ukranian name? Possible that in western (Roman Catholic) Ukraine, there may be some variation of Cyrillic that has that symbol. Clearly it denotes K, but I've never seen it.

Yaroslava def Kiri 46 62 62. Neither girl could ever really get control of this match. Even in the last set, Kiri fought back hard until the DFs really piled up (talkin' a dozen during the match.) In the 3rd set she lost her cool in the 7th game & more or less gave up on the 8th.


Sorry for Kiri but I'm not too exercised 'cause I'm happy for Yaroslava--like her slow but steady improvement.
