Injury. I imagine it's a matter of further nursing her back--she'll likely have to pass on tournaments a few more times. Injurfy like that won't repair real quick.


2nd question: No clue who the blonde is, but she certainly has the look of the MANY women Marat is seen with. Don't worry. Anyone who manages to get a chance with him, Marat will always be a possible. [&] [H]

The ceremony, in addition Yagudin and Safina, participated wife Vyacheslav Fetisov, Ludlam, being chairman of the board of trustees, "The Republic of Sport, the world champion in boxing Natalia Ragozin, a famous skater Nikolai Gulyaev. After the solemn ceremony, a charity concert.

Sports Festival was organized by the Russian Society of Blind, Blind Sports Federation of Russia, Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy in conjunction with Children's Social Fund "Republic Sport".

So, Dinara had to retire at 1-5 vs friend Vika from the Marbella quarterfinal. Back issue, of course, at 1-4. Vika visibly pilled her punches thru the next game for Dinara to find whether she could continue.  I am worried about this girl. Now she has to seriously consider whether she should continue trying to stay in tennis.

Really sad that Dinara has back problems again ! I am afraid that her back is just no strong enough to play proffesional tennis. If she needs to retire, that would be hard to take !!!

The sport-macht would take care of her, I'm sure. Dinara could go to work with Tarpischev & Myskina any day, and Rauza Islanova's daughter will not be without prospects. But, yeah, still a bummer.

For a long while there today, it looked as though Dinara's back might be going out again. :omg: Fortunately, it turned out only stomach cramps--she thinks from something she ate last night. Whew! Until today, her play at Fèshas been top-drawer. She bested Pivovarova 64 26 64 in 3:30 plus interminable delays. :pioggia: MOLODYETS! :ave:

Marat Safin: Dinara's career is over

Marat Safin says that his younger sister's Dinara Safina's career is over. Former No. 1 Safina has struggled tremendously with a back injury over the past two years and has not played since May.

"Dinara was injured two years ago, in Beijing, remember?" Safin was quoted by Russian Eurosport as saying at a press conference in Beijing, where he was promoting a match against Pete Sampras. "She left, but never recovered completely. She tried to return, but only aggravated the crisis. Now she needs to keep her back to be able to walk normally and live a normal life. [Her back] will continue to be treated, but she will play no more...She will make an official statement herself, but as her brother, I believe that there is no chance of return."
