Laura - Wimbledon 2008 Grand Slam Juniors Champion, Laura - Australian Open 2009 Grand Slam Juniors Runner Up. [:|]

Sure she still has things to work on and improve on, but she has achieved a lot at such a young age, and she has the talent to achieve a hell of a lot more. [Y]

"I went in the cafe and asked him if he had a jumper and he gave me this one. I don't know if I can keep this one. It would be a good one to have in the cupboard back home."
It looks like Marat Safin might have some competition after Fernando Verdasco does the gentlemanly thing and lends a chilly Laura Robson his jacket.

"I think she's much younger than me, like three years or something. I think she's OK. But I was better today, so what can I say?"
Ksenia Pervak's thoughts on Laura Robson

Robson tops world junior rankings

Laura Robson
Robson has already got one senior title under her belt

Britain's Laura Robson has claimed the top spot in the world junior rankings.

The 15-year-old succeeds Thailand's Noppawan Lertcheewakarn, who she beat in the final of the Wimbledon girls' tournament last July.

British number 13 Robson, who is the youngest player in the junior top 30, also reached the final at the Australian Open in January.

Robson won her first professional title in November and lies at a career-high 499th in the senior rankings.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Robson gained a British passport in early 2008.

She made her debut on the main women's tour (WTA) last autumn - and claimed her first title within months when she beat fellow Briton Samantha Vickers in Sunderland.

Robson has already been offered a wild card into this year's Wimbledon qualifying tournament.

Wooohooo!!  Laura is playing at the French Open in the Juniors!!!  Gosh missed following her matches and results!!  I hope they televise a match or two of hers here but I would say the chances are like 0%. [:(]

I actually haven't got a clue how good she is on clay. [:|]  I hope she is alright on it, but if Murray is anything to go by, she might not be.  I can't remember how Henman [:)] and Rusedski [:)] were on clay but I am getting a feeling that British players might not be that great on clay. [:S]

Anyways best of luck Lil' Laura you can do it!!!!  C'monnnn!!!  Gooooooo Robbyyyy!!!

Laura plays the unseeded Russian Karina Pimkina in the 1st round, the match will most likely take place tomorrow...

* She's seeded numero uno and it's her first time at RG :) Good Luck Laura!!!

The match will be the 2nd on Court 6, maybe 11:00 GMT. Later, on the same court, 5th match, she'll play doubles with partner Anna Orlik of Belarus--they have partnered before. [H]

Paul, I know what the answer to the question will be, but I'll ask anyways...do you think there will be any streams for the match?  I am not sure if any juniors matches will be covered, I highly doubt it.  Hopefully the final will be televised, well if Laura is in it, otherwise I don't care.

Good Luck Robby you can do it girl!!!  I will be watching the live scores (even though they bore the hell out of me) and cheering you along all the way!!

Lost the first set 6-2.  Guess I know the answer as to whether she is good on clay.  Damn Brits are sh*t on that surface! [:(]

Oh well keep fighting LR - don't give it to her on a silver platter or whatever the bloody saying is. [:|]
