With a striking absence of pre-pub or media attention, Elina Svitolina of Ukraine won the RG 2010 Girls Championship.

Elina Svitolina became the first Ukrainian in history to win the girls’ singles title, beating Ons Jabeur (TUN) 6-2, 7-5, while Agustin Velotti became the first Argentinean to win the boys’ title since Guillermo Coria in 1999, beating Andrea Collarini (USA) 6-4 7-5, in the 2010 French Open junior finals.
 
A nervous Jabeur got off to a shaky start, taking the first game but dropping the next five after an aggressive run of play by Svitolina. The 15-year-old from Kharkov took out the first set in just 28 minutes, and when she took a 4-1 lead, the second set looked likely to go the same way. The Tunisian showed great patience however, and began to play more efficiently. Forcing Svitolina into errors, she shifted the momentum and levelled the second set at 4-4.

Svitolina broke again however, but at 5-4 and serving for the title, it was her turn to fall victim to nerves and she conceded the break-back to 15-year-old Jabeur. The Ukrainian broke again for 6-5, however, then served out at the second time of asking to take the match out after 75 minutes on court. She threw her racquet into the air in celebration, while Jabeur dashed hers to the ground in disappointment.

Maybe I'm stereotyping but I think it a safe bet the typical Ukraine girl is not skinny in the ass. Have to see more match photos to know. (There was a stream of her final but it was a bit too early for me.) Not easy to find body shots of juniors--media all afraid some Yankee freaks might get upset. [:P]
