If i was forced to choose over Maria, i might as well die right now, but i do have many other favorites, none of which come near to the level of love i have for Maria!
I would have to start off with Daniela Hantuchova. She's just as beautiful, but doesn't have the massive shots like Maria. Her game is solid, and it's great to see her actually playing well again! She should be inside the top ten now for a little while longer than her last short stint there.
Nicole Vaidisova also has a game to be watching. She's agressive, powerfull, and can really act out on court a lot as well. She's very entertaining, and i think she's going to be a big star, again though, not as big as Maria!!!
Sybille Bammer! man, this woman, and MOTHER!! has so much game, it's just a shame it's coming this late in her career!! she's just broken into the top twenty and i think she'll have another rock solid year coming up. She's one of the most crafty players around, and the lefty edge has certainly worked in her favor lately.
Victoria Azarenka is definatly the youngster to watch for. Her game is getting better by the tournoment, and pretty soon she'll be just another one of many talented top twenty and maybe even top ten players. Her flat game isn't unusual any more, but it's very high risk, but when she's on, which is a lot of the time, she's unstoppable!!!!
My favorite outside the top fifty would have to be Elena Vesnina, Davenport (but she'll be back top ten soon), Alla Kudryavtseva, Casey Dellaqua, Tsvetana Pironkova, all have great potential to get themselves up in the rankings this coming year!
