Since we dont know when it will be, let's surmise when it wont be.  We see photos of her ob-knobbing with Cynthia Rowley who is about to put on a show at the Milan Fashion Week which runs from  the 18th - 22nd September.  The Toray Pan Pacific Tournament starts on September 23rd.  Based on those dates, where do you think Maria will be?  My money is on Italy....not Japan.

On the homepage there's a pic of Her with the Porsche and the statement..'Is there anything Maria can't do?'  I politely answered in the Social Column..... 'Yes, she cant find time to practice and play tennis so she has to lie about an injury.  Time to quit, nobody believes her anymore.'  Did I go too far?

Think that's a good bet, Italy, 'cos she said she would be there.

Philli Wan can't go far enough...

Meanwhile I am rather concerned that both of you might be right. If Maria wanted to prove us wrong, I would highly recommend to do it sooner than later. Watching the US Open, there are many new players who are able to hurt Maria in early rounds if she started with her rusty, UE-loaded play. On the other hand, there is no-one unbeatable if she was it good shape. Some hope may be taken from her loss against Sloane S. in Cincy where she started quite well but lacked mental (and physical?) toughness in the end. It's a shame - and maybe was a big fault by her - not to compete in the US Open given the rather slow courts that should have served her well.
