Maybe u don't know, but all those Brit girls that make the rainbow shine right now,

are trained 5-6 years ago by a Belgian Top-trainer on special demand from the English

Tennis Federation(ex-Fed/Davis-Cup-captain). U can see the results now with Robson, Watson & Co. Somewhere there's

a tread about Laura i created when an older member of the site suddenly got "excited" about Laura:) lol

Just for infAngel

Looking forward to tomorrow's tennis wishing I could watch Fichman vs Sori. Sharon may just surprise, she's been playing very well of late. Fichman will be playing doubles with Wozniack, who is coming back from almost a year off due to injury.
Like to see some evidence of Grigor walking Dolce. If no pics, your information is false  !

Number 1: I saw the picture; it's a fact.    Number 2:  Guy walks a dog... So what??? Should I

care?  And what does this have to do with the price of tea in China?

This is GREAT!!  Now let's raise the Belgian flag!  This is why tennis is such an

international sport, and part of the reason I love it.  We are all intermingled, don't you see?  Where I come

from, there is comfort and familiarity in our similarities, but we search out and celebrate the uniqueness

that each brings to the table.  In theory, anyway.  That's what we strive for.  Sorry if that's too

political. Didn't mean to be.  Just sayin...

eachother over that language(Québec knew the problem, but less now if i'm not mistaken). I'm

in the middle in Brussels, multicultural CAPITAL of Belgium and EUROPE. I have no problems with

languages, colored ppl or other stupid things those two others quarrel about. I really hope they

cut this stupid, little country in two and let Brussels alone !!! For a foreigner to really ex-

plain this STUPID situation is not easy:)...maybe try Google lol

WOZNIACKI SURVIVES AGGRESSIVE DUAN

NEW YORK, NY, USA - Caroline Wozniacki withstood a barrage of huge hitting from Chinese newcomer Duan Ying-Ying on Tuesday to move into the second round of her very best Grand Slam.

Duan, who came out of the qualifying and into her first Grand Slam main draw, completely teed off on the consistent ground game of Wozniacki, not finding too much success in the first set - she dropped it, 6-2 - but building some major momentum in the second set, storming out to a 5-2 lead. Duan even got a set point at 5-4 in that second set - but the No.6-seeded Wozniacki squeaked it out in the end, 62 75.

The match numbers told the story. Duan was the clear aggressor but was a little inconsistent at times, hitting 34 winners to 46 unforced errors - Wozniacki was extremely steady, an even 11 and 11.

"She went for it, hitting everything, and I just had to keep steady and keep running balls down," Wozniacki said. "I just kept my focus and kept fighting for every point, and I'm happy to be through. I think everyone you asked today would just say it was a day of survival and a day to get through.

"It's not about being pretty, it's about getting the job done. I did that, so I'm happy about that."

Wozniacki had some very nice words in her post-match press conference about Duan's prospects.

"She was really hitting hard from both sides," Wozniacki said. "She can play some very good tennis. It was difficult for me out there. I was happy to be able to run things down and finish the match."

The US Open is where Wozniacki reached her first Grand Slam final back in 2009. The Dane has been to a slew of other quarterfinals and semifinals at majors since then, but no other finals - yet.

"I always believe in that, so I never lost the belief," Wozniacki commented on the subject. "But here there are still so many matches to go, so I just have to go one match at a time, like I always do.

"I felt good out there. I feel like the game is where I want it to be. I love the hardcourts and playing on Arthur Ashe Stadium as my first match is great. I was really excited. It's so nice to be back."

Next up for Wozniacki is Chanelle Scheepers, who won an all-South African battle with qualifier Chanel Simmonds, 26 62 61. Wozniacki beat Scheepers in their only previous meeting, but it was a dramatic one - Wozniacki won the first set and had three match points in the second set, one at 6-5 and another two at 6-4 and 6-5 in the tie-break, but ended up finishing it off in the third set, 75 67(6) 62.

SECOND ROUND ROUND UP...

NEW YORK, NY, USA - Caroline Wozniacki and Daniela Hantuchova snapped up the last two spots in the third round of the US Open, shining under the lights on a muggy Thursday night in New York City.

The No.6-seeded Wozniacki was the first of the pair to advance, needing an hour and seven minutes to outrally Chanelle Scheepers in the first match of the night session on Arthur Ashe Stadium, 61 62.

"I felt pretty good," Wozniacki said afterwards. "I really like playing the night session on Ashe. It's great. It's a nice atmosphere. It's very electric. I was really excited to go out there and play today."

Out on Court 17, Hantuchova became the last player into the last 32, ending the run of American qualifier Victoria Duval, 62 63. Duval had taken out No.11 seed Sam Stosur in a first round stunner.

Wozniacki wasn't the only Top 8 seed to move through, with No.7 seed Petra Kvitova beating Bojana Jovanovski, 62 64; No.8 seed Angelique Kerber grinding out a two-hour, 46-minute win over Eugenie Bouchard, 64 26 63; No.9 seed Jelena Jankovic ending the comeback major of Alisa Kleybanova, 63 62; and No.10 seed Roberta Vinci battling back from a set down to beat Lucie Safarova, 46 61 62.

"I'm very happy I won this close match," Kerber said of her win over Bouchard. "She was playing very well from the first point to the last. She is a very young and talented player and it wasn't easy for me until the last point. I needed to give everything I had today. I'm very happy I'm in the third round."

Ana Ivanovic, a former No.1 and the No.13 seed here, cruised past Alexandra Dulgheru, 62 61.

"It was not easy conditions today - it was a little bit gusty - but I was very happy overall," Ivanovic said. "Alexandra's a tough player. She played well and strikes some really good backhands. I was really happy I managed to push the ball to her to the forehand - she made a few more errors on that wing."

No.14 seed Maria Kirilenko, No.16 seed Sabine Lisicki, No.21 seed Simona Halep, No.24 seed Ekaterina Makarova and No.25 seed Kaia Kanepi also won, with Lisicki beating Paula Ormaechea, 62 63, her first time winning back-to-back matches since suffering a right wrist injury after Wimbledon.

"I didn't spend as much time on court after Wimbledon because I had to take care of a little injury, but I did the best I could, and every match is getting better and I'm getting happier with the way I play," Lisicki said. "I took my time. I knew out of experience if you don't take your time to cure it, it might take over. I wanted to make sure everything was fine with it so I'm pain-free when I come back."

The day wasn't without its upsets though, the biggest surprise of them all being No.19 seed Sorana Cirstea going out to Japanese qualifier Kurumi Nara, 75 61. Also, Karin Knapp took out No.22 seed Elena Vesnina, 61 64, and American wildcard Alison Riske beating No.28 seed Mona Barthel, 64 62.

Qualifiers Christina McHale, Camila Giorgi and Julia Glushko also moved through to the third round.

Somethings wrong here. Aren't Maria and what's his name both 6'2"? Even with Maria's flats, seems like quite a difference.  Maybe he just stepped up on the curb and Maria hasn't yet.  Or maybe that's MARSHA and not Maria at all???
