MOSCOW, June 22 (R-Sport) - Top tennis seeds Nadia Petrova of Russia and Slovenia's Katarina Srebotnik sauntered to the doubles title at Eastbourne on Saturday, sweeping aside Monica Niculescu and Klara Zakaplova in the Wimbledon tune-up.
The pair barely needed an hour to prevail 6-3, 6-3, and go into next week's Grand Slam in top form.
Petrova, who took her 24th career title with the victory in southern England, and Srebotnik are seeded third in the women's doubles at SW19.
Italian duo Roberta Vinci and Sara Errani lead the seedings, followed by last year's beaten finalists, Czech pair Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka at No. 2.
Russia had success in the singles at Eastbourne on Saturday, when Elena Vesnina defeated American qualifier Jamie Hampton 6-2, 6-1.
