Dartagnan: A new tennis career started for Grigor Dimitrov. Grigor has the perfect age to become a very strong tennis player. He should take his chance. We congratulate him with his recent victory. We wish him a lot of success&courage in his tennis career.
In the match of two talented youngsters the more experienced won. Grigor Dimitrov defeated Lucas Pouille 6-1 7-6(4) 6-1. It's the first ever Slam 3rd round for Dimitrov. The score looks harsh, but the 19-year-old French Wild Card actually showed his potential. Dimitrov played very well. The exception was the second set, where Bulgarian led with a break, but he got relaxed too easily. This was the best proof of how Pouille could make the match competitive if he got some opponent of worse class. The first round was another proof of that; Lucas beat Alex Kuznetsov from USA. He should stop playing futures and move into medium level challengers, because he seems ready for it. Recent quarterfinal in Samarkand is a confirmation.Dimitrov is ready for his clash against Novak Djokovic or Guido Pella. In other words, against Djokovic unless some serious accident happens. The 22-year-old Bulgarian already eliminated world leader in Madrid, and he will be able to have his chances also at Roland Garros. The only difference is that here we play best of 5, and fitness is Dimitrov's biggest weakness.
