Russian tennis duo Darya Gavrilova/Irina Khromacheva have made it to the finals of the Junior French Open tournament  defeating Alexandra Sasnovic/ Donna Vekic (Bel/Cro) 2-6, 6-3,1-0.


In the finals, the girls will play against US/Canada or Paraguay/Brazil.

Russia’s Darya Gavrilova and Irina Khromacheva have won the 2012 Junior French Open.


In the final, they defeated the Paraguayan-Brazilian pair Montserrat Gonzales and Beatrice Haddad Maya 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.


Last year Khromacheva won the prestigious tournament with Marina Zanevskaya (Ukraine) as her partner.

Russia’s Irina Khromacheva beat Bulgarian rival radian Dimitrova 6-1, 6-2 at an International Tennis Federation tournament in Sophia on Wednesday.




Later this week, the 17-year-old will face the winner if the match between Angelique Van Der Meet of the Netherlands and Italy’s Anastasia Grymalska.

Most of the Russian girls got thru the AO qualies, including Valeria Savinykh, who beat veteran Aussie (former Russian) Anastasia Rodionova along the way.  Valeria is set up to play Mandy Minella on Monday. Hope for her to get through to the next round. ДАВАЙ!!!

Russia's Olga Puchkova in finals of Brazil Tennis Cup

Russian Olga Puchkova has made her way into the finals of the WTA event Brazil Tennis Cup, in Florianopolis, Brazil.


In the semifinal match on Friday she beat the top-seed, American Venus Williams, with a score of 4:6, 6:4, 7:5.


In the final Puchkova faces Romania’s Monica Niculescu.


The tournament prize fund is 235 thousand dollars.

Romania's Monica Niculescu outlasted Russian Olga Puchkova in the final of the WTA Brazil Tennis Cup Saturday, notching her first career championship.

Niculescu overcame Puchkova 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in just under 2 hours, improving to 1-2 lifetime in finals.

The 75th-ranked Romanian had lost in the finals at Luxembourg in each of the last two years.

Anne Keothavong and Valeria Savinykh may not have won the doubles title at the WTA Brasil Tennis Cup, but for Keothavong just making the final was a very big personal breakthrough.
