Maria can't play against Serena! It's a really big problem for Maria, because if she doesn't find a way or strategy against Serena, she might not win tournaments that Serena plays in them -all the Grand Slams and most of the tournaments-!


If Maria plays like this against Serena, Serena will play with more confidence against Maria  and with a thinking of "oh, my match is against Maria, so it will be an easy match for me and I'll beat her very easily"!


I hope Maria finds a good strategy against Serena!

Final match will between Victoria and Serena, Serena beats Victoria a million times before, It's 11-1. Only match Victoria won,Was Miami 2009 ! 4 years before ! Serena gonna win title , Nobody can stop her :(
Maria must find a way for this problem, It's not one time or two , We are talking about 10-2, last match maria won was 2004 ! It's almost 9 years Maria Sharapova couldn't save even 1 victory against Serena Williams ! It's really something bad and of course it effects Maria's confidence , We should find a way. We can't see Maria always be runner up against her till she retires :( It's enough .
Anyway, It looks like Victoria doesn't want to lose title , She fights . It's 5-5. Best of luck for Victoria, And of course for Maria.There is always a hope :)

I agree something is wrong about Serena.But of course Time will show us... It needs to be patient.
Maria just needs more time and more working on her skills. We must trust her and continue supporting,She needs more confidence . Everything will be all right ;)

Who said Maria needs to keep working on her skills?  She's only been working on them for 10 years...how much more time does she need.  Thomas was right yesterday.  I can well imagine that he has told her a million times not to let Serena intimidate her....and what does she do?  Let's Serena intimidate her.   For all that Maria thinks she is...all that bullshit that she always puts out....Serena is the great Equalizer...the one who puts her firmly in her place and lets her know she is not that great.  And all you idiots who say wait til Serena gets older then Maria will be able to beat her..  what's all that crap about.  You dummies forget that Maria is getting older too.


Vika did a great job today...not for a second did she let Serena intimidate her....on the contrary, she got Serena all riled up and made her look like that what she is....OLD.   Well done Vika..a few more weeks and you will be back at Number 1.  Serena wont play too many more tournaments before RG.  It wouldn't surprise me if she pulls out of Dubai.....bad back or bruised ass.


And as for Maria, she is probably already on her way to New York...The Fashion Shows go on until next Thursday.

Unfortunately there is one loser this week and that's Maria. She needs to find a total different strategy next time she plays, Serena as her game is too easy for Serena to play . How about serve and volley or return of serve right from the net. Maybe next time not to show up for the match and then 5 minutes before play to run on court and distract Serena in a way that she loses concentration. I don't know but something else needs to be done. Lol.

The beast was off today, but Vika was certainly on fire. Maybe Maria needs to take a page out of Vika's book. We all know she's capable of beating Serena, it's just getting over the fact she hasn't beaten her in 9 years. We'll see.

Vika will have a SHIT TONNE of confidence after this win. Good luck to Maria the next time she faces Vika, because we all know Vika is out for blood after losing to her at the YEC

Looking at the top 3, the main problem Maria has is her movement. Her tennis in general is fine . Serena and Vika move much better and that's a problem for Maria, which I think she will be unable to fix.

Hmmm i dunno Brebis. I think physically she is very fit; the fittest she has ever been. Her team has worked very hard with her since her come back to get her to a high level of fitness - evident in her FO win last year.

For me, Maria has mental issues when playing either Vika or Serena. She's certainly capable of destroying both ladies when she's on her game, but it's just like she has mental seizures whenever she plays them and plays sub par.

Yes she's a bit slower than both of them, but i think it's more the mental aspect. Both these ladies just give Maria the shits, and i don't know why

I wonder why Maria is not playing Dubai this year, as she could have won many points for the ranking list. Now she is again 3 weeks free, for what reason ? She has been practising enough lately.

Unfortunately not an unexpected result. Serena played a flawless match, especially after Maria DF'd away the break in the first set. This gave Serena confidence and rattled Masha. Things had been very even up until then and Maria's serve was holding up. Serena is in her head. Against Vika Serena played a lot more like she had in the previous rounds. She feels ultimately confident against Maria and Maria is fragile against Serena. Not used to having the game taken to her. I don't think that Maria has the same issues against Vika, as she has won a couple of their last meetings. Well it looks like a month off now and you know she will be working hard to keep improving.
Masha is my #1!!

Brebis, I told you why she never played Dubai.  Same reason as every year..... she is in New York visiting various Fashion Shows.  The fashion week started last Thursday so she only missed a few days.  Like I've said so many times before, that girl no longer has her priorities in the right order....unless of course, fashion shows are more important than all that which made her what she is.  Depends on your outlook.
