What a match from Angelique and Vika !!! I think it's the best match so far, and will be the best match for this championships !!

Yet again Maria can not close out a set under pressure. This keeps coming back and seems not to be solved in this tennis career. Time for bed , see you all tomorrow.

What a match, Aga made Maria work really hard to get this victory and a place in the semis of the WTA Champinship 5-7 7-5 7-5 in 3 hrs 12 min. I know Maria had a lot of unforced erros but she had a lot of winners too and we need to give Aga some credit she moves very well and always make you hit an extra ball. So, that's why I'm proud of Maria's performance today. It was a high quality match from both players but Maria's will to win was the key in this match.


The bad part of the story is that Maria will not play tomorrow, so she will face Samantha on Friday and the semis on Saturday. I honestly would prefer that she have the Friday off. But, in anyway Maria got her place in the semis now is wait to see who she will face.

^ Yes, I agree. I rather she rest now, and not play three days in a row, especially having ended so late today!


 


Really glad she pulled through in the end of this long long match! Unfortunately, her double faulting came back though, and kind of lost points at crucial times T_T But everytime, she shows how much she really want to win, and plays so aggressively. I still really love watching her play, but a decrease in those unforced errors would be even better.


The whole day was full of interesting matches I'd say. Serena vs Li wasn't as "relaxing" for Serena as I thought it would be. (didn't watch though) Vika against Kerber seemed really intense, but didn't watch it. I'll probably watch it afterwards on Youtube or something, seems worthwhile ! I was kind of hoping Kerber would win hahaha, cuz she was so close, hahaha (and mainly, I'd love for Maria to have a chance at ending the year at #1, though unlikely this year.)

Wooooowww, she won !! Needs to rest and then pick up on her performance. That serve is still not there after 20 years of practice. Let's hope she is able to recover after such a long match. Thank God, no pressure anymore for the match against Sam.

People thought the kerber-Azarenka match was a nail biter? Haha who would have thought of how much epic yesterday night was!!

What a match between Masha and Aga! What a classic display of Masha's resilience and fighting spirit!

This win was amazingly satisfying! Maria showed so much determination to win this match even if it took here like 10 hours to do so!

Congratulations Maria! Another semifinal reached! Keep going and take care of your body for now!

Maria needs to take it easy against Sam; she's already guaranteed her spot in the semis.

It'll just be whether she wants to win the white group, so she'll likely face Vika rather than Serena in the Semis. Hey, but anything can happen, as we saw today

I don't think Maria will ever take things in an easy way especially against Sam who she lost to last year. Anther revenge match guarranty!!!
