Maria's final tournament of the year.


She's won this event before, all the way back in 04. She's also been a runner up (07) and a semi finalist (05, 06). Last year injury prevented her from competing at her full potential. 


How will she fare this year? Will she finally get revenge over Serena and Vika? Will she end the year as number 1? Only time will tell!

Maria vs Sara - 6/3, 6/2


Maria vs Sam - 6/0, 6-3


Maria vs Aga - 5/7, 7/5, 7/5

I hope she bounces back. All tough opponents and no time to ease into the tournament, though round robin format makes that a bit less important. You still don't want to start with a loss. The draw will be important. I think she will do OK. Come on Maria!!

Back from the States but no Sugarpova to be found in shops in New York ? Too bad , as I wanted to buy it as a souvenir, anyway, time for some tennis this week. Hope Maria will have a couple of wins. That will boost her convidence for the new year.

Luck with her this time. Nevertheless, one match at the time !!! It's indoor, that will help her serve. On the other hand, after years of practice, that serve should not be an issue by now, right ? In good health and spirit, Maria should reach the semi finals. Sasha there for support ?

Best possible draw for the round robin imo, but of course this likely means Serena or Vika in the semis, so it is a double edged sword. Hope I get to watch some of these matches as I'm super busy right now at work. Well best of luck to Masha. Go for it girl!!! Davai!!

It's clear that Maria's group is easy! I think that the only tough rival for Maria at this group can be Kvitova but Maria can beat her if she concentrate on her match!

Anyway, I hope that Maria wins the latest title in the year!

See Masha go straight to those semi-finals. And then...the REAL GAMES begin(note, this lottery as

i like to call it,is unpredictable and her opponent in those semi-final could as well be Kerber or Bartoli)...

Of course, same goes for Masha but let's for once be optimistic:)...
