Big disappointment. Maria lost her semis against Victoria Azarenza from Belarus. In the first set Maria dominated Azarenka and took easily the set 63. The key of the final defeat was the second set: too many errors, too many double faults, Maria far away from her potential, while Azarenka started to play wery well, eventually 62 for Belarus player. The third set was very tough, battled with great determination by both players, with Maria unfortunately not in her best shape, below her best level, not in condition to impose on Azarenka the rythm of her best days. There was also a component of casuality: everything has turned in favor of Azarenka, definitely it wasn't the right day for Maria. This would have to be the real final of the tournament, and Maria was so close to win: this the great regret for what might have been and wasn't. But life continues.
