So far Vesnina, who is 26-year old, has been more successful in doubles. She has eight WTA titles and she is a three time finalist of the Grand Slam tournaments. "I'd love to open a tennis school for children in my hometown of Sochi." said Sharapova Maria.

Svetlana Kuznetsova, also of Russia, ousted Spain’s Carla Suarez Navarro to make it into Round 4. A fellow Russian, Maria Kirilenko, who outplayed Belgium’s Janina Vickmayer, will take on the world’s N3, Serena Williams of the United States. The pair defeated Silvia Soler-Espinosa and Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain 1-6, 7-5,6-4. In the semifinals, the Russians will face the winner of a match between Italian pair of Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci and their US rivals Serena and Venus Williams. On Monday, Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic made it to the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles event at the 2013 Australian Open currently under way in Melbourne. The match ended with a score 6:0, 5:7, 10:6 and lasted one hour, 31 minutes. The tournament`s prize fund exceeded $6 million.
