I long ago got past feeling I had to oblige the adolescent debating class device of defending myself against charges that everything I say is a lie. However, realizing you are merely trying to raise doubts in the minds of other readers--you don't reallly give a f__k what I was saying anyway--I will review this particular clip. The French ones I watched have been pulled down & who knows what NBC shot. So far, it looks like this won't have time for the entire ceremony.

Obviously, you'd just as soon avoid the central point that she did not answer the interviewer's question.

NBC piece is edited as hell--even cut out the minimal butt shots when she went onto the stands. Less that 15 mins os post-match, whereas the full ceremony was 45 mins long. AND they cut away from her to panorama during the anthem starting at 35:36--the French broadcast did not.

EVEN SO, she clearly says something at or just before 36:10. Just as I thought. Y'all didn't even watch this. You wasted my time for your pissy little effort to make others doubt my word.  You're pathetic.

Paul, you really must stop this paranoia. On the one hand you praise her and on the other you shoot her down. Now, I didn't say you were wrong, I simply said I saw no signs of what you claimed that she did.

And another thing. Paul you really must be careful. If your potential voters knew that thier Tax Assesser had a PC full of pics of pretty young girls running around in very short skirts and a preference for russian teens to boot, I dont think a lot of them would approve.

Thank you Maria for all of your hard work.  It is not easy to return to the #1 player in the world w/o a ton of pressure surrounding you all the time.  I love your work ethics, mechanics, pride, & amazing word choice on camera.  All life is a journey.  You are on top of the world again, like I always knew that you would be.  PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND ENJOY BEING THE WORLDS GREATEST TENNIS PLAYER.  Life is long and these moments are short.  You will always be the best.  Take some time to smell the flowers Masha, you never know who you might meet just around the corner.

I know you, you are just like me.  You can't sit still.  You always want to keep moving, what are we doing next?  Let's take a vacation from tennis:  Visit the mountains, try skiing again.  Go back to Australia, visit your home in Tampa.  We all miss seeing you.  You are the new world princess of tennis, and for that matter, everything else.  Your power is great!  You can move mountians and end wars.  Be Yourself this year, find a new LOVE.  Then dissapear for a whole year.  I can take you there. I promise.  All I want to do is make you happy, challenge your mind, and relax your soul.  Be well my Love  OXOX

Lets explore, the world is yours, isn't it about time to go see it all?

Give it a rest Val, you're sounding more and more like a doting fan every day. Does anybody have a vid of all her double faults.....she did make some, didn't she?

Hey Philli, below is only my opinion/response, not trying to undermine you, remember that while reaing it.

I am a fan. What am I doing here if I am not? This is Maria's fanpage afterall. I am a member also in tennisforum for all tennis related, but right here I come because of Maria just as I go to Novak's fanpage for he is my favorite ATP player. Do I hold a special place for Maria in my love for tennis? You bet. Did I make the video with her 171 winners? No of course I didnt. Is there a video of double faults? No, and there is no such video for any player who won a tournament. Nobody wants to watch a reel of a double fault fest... from the winner of a Slam, what is the point of that? Nadal made 4 double faults in the final... does anyone care? He won his 7th RG, no1 will care even if he makes 35 double faults.

I am a fan of Maria. That is why I come here. That is why I stay here. I am not ashamed to call myself a fan, quite the opposite I might say.

I will always call things the way I see them objectively or subjectively, without saying that my opinion is a fact. I will always criticize the bad days like I have done in the past, but I will always praise the good ones as well. Maria has done something monumental in my opinion. Yes I will say it again: MONUMENTAL and I dont mind how that sounds really.

When Stefi Graf, Monica Seles, Nick Bolletieri and lots of other legends say that the extend of Maria's injury was such that other tennis players would simply retire, then that earns my respect on a whole new level. I knew Maria's injury was bad, but I never thought that it was regarded THAT bad. She is the only player both in WTA and ATP to come back from such an injury and get to the no1 spot and win a Slam, completing her career Slam as well. (something not done in the last 10 years and only the 6th player in the open era)

But the whole point for me is this thing right here:

Maria could have easily retired when she had that injury. She had fame, she had her endorsements, she had her Slam trophies, she made millions, she is pretty.... really why go into all the trouble of coming back? Why do this? She could have been the next Russian "Paris Hilton", the new "Kournikova", you name it. She had EVERYTHING... hell she could just sit in her bed all day and do nothing... she had enough money to just party all day for the rest of her life. Think about it for a second...why go into all this trouble? She could just go shopping all day...

But she did not. Contrary to what everyone was saying all these past years (especially the press), all the doubters and non believers, she worked her butt off to come to where she is today.

THAT my dear Philli earns my outmost respect... I have said so in the past, but now more than ever, listening to all the details concerning her injury (info coming to light) I am amazed to what she has achieved. Honestly I dont care so much what happens next. I mean I do, but even if it doesnt pan out, I am already happy as a fan.Maria proved that no matter the number of endorsements, no matter the photoshoots, no matter everything else...more than everything she LOVES TENNIS.

I dont expect you to agree with all of what I said, nor do you have to, we are just having a conversation, I simply am voicing out my opinion, as a fan, yes...not ashamed to call myself something like that.

See you around!
