I can't believe Maria was able to hang in that match. One of the matches where her service games were really holding. I think there are 35 service games all in all and it was calculated that 33 of those are service holds! She also hit 10 aces with less double faults for a 3 setter! That's pretty stunning numbers. What worries me is her movement, Sam was molving her around the court with her heavy top spin forehand and wicked slice backhands. 

Anyway, next would be Petra, her flat shots would be easier for Sharapova to hit compared to Stosurs

The fact that Maria survived that match point was outstanding. Her serve didn't deserted her. I was on the verging of turning off my laptop during that match point. But somehow she managed to held her serve and won the set and match eventually. Credits to Sam too, she served really well! She kept Sharapova guessing where she is gonna land that freaking kick serve. And what surprised me the most is Sam's backhand! She outnumbered Maria in terms of winners on that department. 

Kvitova is next, her serve and movement will be vital here. She needs to keep that 1-2 punch going.

Congratulations to Maria on winning against Sam on indoor clay. Great achievement. That was the Maria I love watching. Maria the fighter, the believer in herself, never giving up.

Hope she can recharge her batteries to play Petra who had only 2 sets against Kerber which was somewhat surprising.

Maria needs to put a lot of first serves in her next match to take some pressure of from her service games. I mean Petra hit really good returns, she hit the ball really hard, almost like a slap type shot :D

Maria does look like a cow on ice but who cares as long as she wins the point. 

About the movement Masha has improved it. 

Masha will play a strong tennis and she will fight until the last point against her opponents.
