Hey Brebis. I am happy--though not surprised--she could recover from the sprain in good time.

Now, she says the "ocean", but that land in the background looks like that along the Bogazi (Bosporus) to me, yeah.

WTA CHAMPIONSHIPS

ISTANBUL 2011/

OCTOBER 25-30

"I congratulate Caroline, Maria, Kveta and Katarina on becoming the first players to reach the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships," said Stacey Allaster, Chairman & CEO of the WTA. "Caroline has been incredibly consistent in her performances over the last year and is close to holding the No.1 ranking for 12 months. Having Maria back for the first time since 2007 is a true testament to all the hard work she's put in since returning from shoulder surgery. It will be great for fans around the world to see these players competing in Istanbul."

Sharapova will be playing the event for the first time since 2007.

"I am so happy to have booked my spot in Istanbul. I haven't been to the event since 2007 and I've really missed competing in one of the most exciting and important events of the year. I'm looking forward to making the most of playing in Istanbul."

Yes, Sasha has an apartment there--why I wouldn't be surprised if she's there already.

Nice to see her up and walking around. That looks a lot like Cali to me though and not Turkey.

NO NO NO her boy.fire.end is not there. Only Maria's fans will support Maria in Instanbul.

If Yuri Sharapov is in Sochi, he can join her, Turkey is not far from Sochi.

At this moment Masha should concentrate on her recovery and tennis. Her fans will do the rest.

Well Sasha is there and 2 days ago I watched a friendly match between a greek bball team and the turkish one sasha is in. :)

But yeah I hope Maria gets all ready and fired up for the YEC! Although I still believe (and I dont want to sound pessimist) that the injury will eventually affect her. Maybe not so much physically but mentaly. Here is hoping that I am completely wrong!! :)

Davai Maria!

Sure Sasha is there. We will see him in the stadium--unless he's playing himself. Dunno their schedule.

Consider this: Maria has played tennis all her life. Over twenty years, doncha know she's sprained her ankle a few times?

A second happy coincidence is the fact that my nephew Sasha was born on 08 march 2010.

It is always nice to see Yuri&Masha together. Yuri helped Masha during all his life to reach the top level of her career. Her dad supports (physical&moral) was always important in Masha's career. Masha&Yuri remember me Amadeus Mozart (the classical music composer)&his dad Leopold Mozart. Without his dad Amadeus Mozart would not be so famous in his life. His dad created him and helped him to be famous in the field of classical music.

Unfortunatly when Mozart was older, he stopped listening the advice of his dad and he finished his life very unhappy.

It is not the case of Masha who always listens the advice of her dad so she is always famous&happy.

I hope that Masha will recover quickly with the presence of her beloved dad, Yuri.

Yuri is the happiest dad in the world.

Interesting to see that Maria did not ran to Turkey straight after China. Obviously she is not missing Sasha that much ?!?! Just kidding. Let's hope she can play some good tennis at the YEC . I just have my doubts if her ankle is health by then . Have you all noticed that Philli is not really caring about Maria's health. She calls herself a fan ?!?!

In fact, a sprained ankle with a month to recover is not very much IMO.

Of course she'll play Istanbul.

Shamil said yesterday: "Maria will not participate in the Moscow tournament and the Federation Cup final this year against the Czech Republic" said Tarpischev. "But we have an arrangement with Sharapova's about meeting with Spain, so she comes to the national team in February."

Which will also be in Moscow Olympic Stadium. What Maria MAY very well NOT like is the sticky RuKort surface--which is a real ankle-turner.

As for the preposterous assertion she doesn't like her people--just believe whatever you find convenient at the moment. That is so American, BTW.

Championat says Vera now qualified.

Zvonareva qualified for the final tournament of the year in Istanbul

Russian woman Vera Zvonareva qualified for the final tournament of the year in Istanbul. She became the sixth player to hit at securing a final competition. Previously, this right is achieved Dane Caroline Wozniacki , Russian woman Maria Sharapova , Czech Petra Kvitova , Belarusian Victoria Azarenka and Chinese Li Na . Thus, the fate of two more trips will be determined in the last two weeks of the season in a tournament in Linz, Osaka, Moscow, and Luxembourg. 2011 title race.

1. Caroline Wozniacki - 7395. 2. Maria Sharapova - 6370. 3. Petra Kvitova - 5691. 4. Victoria Azarenka - 5590. 5. Li Na - 5351. 6. Vera Zvonareva - 5190. 7. Samantha Stosur - 4975. 8. Agnieszka Radwanska - 4940. 9. Andrea Petkovic - 4580. 10. Marion Bartoli - 4455.
