Expect Maria to show the world that she can do better then in New York. A few more tennis weeks ahead of us and like to wish Maria all the best for the weeks to come !!  A third title this year would be amazing !!  Maria, " just do it " !!!!!

Thanx for starting the thread, Brebis

Masha can pocket many points this year--having gone out to Date-Krumm last year (after winning the Toray in 2009.) That loss did not strike me as significant then & still doesn't. Maria "drew" a local favorite who is not only a freak of nature, but also possessed a style of play relatively unfamiliar to present day players.

I'm not keen on the Tokyo event for the concerns raised by Dart as well as others. But the fact is that it may be the best remaining opportunity for her this year. Unfortunately, the hanky-panky run on Kiri at Guangzhou this morning instills no confidence Beijing is inclined to frustrate dark designs this year.

Where's Serena? Looks like Maria will get to meet Petra Kvitova at some point. Let's hope this will be a different match from Wimbly.

SOS--IOW, Same Old Shit, yeah. WTA, staffed altogether by Yanks, does not realize that schools outside the US still teach formal logic.  Like "freedom & democracy", "random" means whatever is convenient to the bosses' purpose at the moment.

Serena, you won't see again until AO--if then. Cake-walk Princess to the quarters when Yank broadcast kicks in, foreclose any chance of a Russian final... you know the drill.

No Russian qualifiers came thru: http://www.toray-ppo.co..../pdf/2011main_s_draw.pdf

Some Main Draw play begins Sunday, including Arantxa Rus vs Nastia Pavlyuchenkova AND Tamarine TANASUGARN vs Petra CETKOVSKA, determining Masha's first opponent.

Hi Tiger.  Note the continuing "blank spot" on line 45. I'm becoming concerned about possible woolly-woolly re Zvonareva's first-round opponent.

You are right Tamarine is a tough nut and Masha told us: "I think I will breakdown soon!! "

Tamarine will stay in Tokyo and Masha will watch the new 3D movie the 3 muketeers with her new clothes from Tokyo at home.

Rain interruptions on the outside courts. Of course, in the Ariake the schedule is moving right along. First match wrapping up with Ana I whacking A-Rod 64 60 in 1:05.

Next up 2. Ayumi Morita vs. Marion Bartoli.

Streams will start with 3. Mandy Minella vs. Kimiko Date-Krumm: http://www.seeon.tv/view/20197/   & http://www.sportlemon.tv/v-2/10/98/v-309810.html

You're welcome, Sophie.  The main page here says Masha's match around 19:00 local. HOWEVER, that is not compatible with WTA or the OOP, which still show 17:00.

http://www.toray-ppo.co....t/pdf/2011wtaii_oop5.pdf

I'm still expecting her in an hour & a half from now. So do the webcasters.
