greetings from Hellas:)

LOLOLOLOL !!!! Some things never change !! I'm doing great, I work in a big hospital in Athens ( I will be working there until the end of October that is - then I will try new things, maybe a football team, or a physical therapy workshop), and I'm still not a communist even though that would make mr Pipkin a very happy man !!!

... oh and next year I'll probably go for a PHD in athletism and manual threrapy (I'm working my way around tennis).. How is Paul doing???....AND THAT'S NO FOR ME TO ANSWER:)

Glad to hear everythin's on track for her.  Re KKE, just give her time--experience some more of that good IMF-Euro "austerity". lol

Yeah, I have no doubt we'll one day see her run onto the court when JJ "calls for a trainer". :ok:

Paul don't know how he's doing.  Next couple of months should see some clarification. Stay tuned.

TTO: So, Gorgeous is outta Dallas. Apart from Julia, most of the girls I would've exerted myself to catch either didn't show (Rus) or were outta there like in the first day or so (Strycova, Jovanovski). So I'm not overly bummed I didn't try to get there.

I'm still monitoring this mess, however. Understand, I DO prefer the thing to survive if that's at all possible.  Next year, circumstances might be better and who knows? Eventually some Russians might come down here.

Dominika looked like a favorite, but not so much...

No.2 seed Dominika Cibulkova won her opening match against Mirjana Lucic handily, 64 60.

41°C on Thursday--at 19:00 when Lisicki & KatBondi started, it was still 39°C  "Boxes" maybe 70% with a light scattering on the bleachers. http://www.sportlemon.tv/v-2/8/154/v-295483.html

Play has been at night but they are gonna try a daytime final Lotsa luck at 40+ ºChttp://www.sportlemon.tv/v-2/8/152/v-295360.html Doubles start at noon CDT (17:00 GMT, 18:00 London, 19:00 Western Europe) Singles and hour & a half later.

Stadium (from 12:00hrs noon CDT) FINALS

1. Alize CORNET / Pauline PARMENTIER vs Brianti/Cirstea

2. Sabine Lisicki vs. Aravane Rezai NB 14:30 CDT (19:30 GMT)

(There is some question how soon Lisicki & others still in Dallas will be able to reach NYC for the USO.)

IN THE STATES: The Tennis Channel will replay Lisicki vs Begu semi on Sunday at 06:00 EDT; Rezai vs Kerber semi at 08:00 EDT (interesting & worth watching); Lisicki vs Rezai FINAL at 10:00 EDT. Final repeated at 16:30 & 00:00 midnight.

While TTC commentary often comes off as a conversation between pet rocks, they do a pretty good job here--particularly during the intriguing Rezai-Kerber semifinal. Commentator Luke Jensen dubs Aravane the "Persian Lion". lol!
