When Katya Makarova had to play a "lucky loser", she drew MJMS--deployed in the same identical fashion as if the Spaniard had actually qualified.
For Shahar Peer OTOH, they found Parmentier, a weak sister far below even the Israeli's mediocre standard. Clearly the organizers hope Peng Shuai, working against injury, will now falter & Peer can be ballyhooed as a "quarterfinalist" without doing a damned thing.
Wow. We lost Princess, we lost "Jehovah-My-Gawd" Williams but retained Zion's own Peer. Must be divine intervention, hunh?
And shrapi advises us that NATO sportspimps are wailing it was "unfair" to oblige the Great Amerikaan Sweathawg to play in the daylight at all!!!!!
The MASKS are really off now and no one is even bothering to conceal their agendas or whose interests they suck. Dunno how tennisforum is gonna handle it--lol.
As I said to you in shoutbox last night I couldnt agree any more...
It really is a bad, pathetic joke. I eriously urge everyone to stop giving any hits in wta.com website. This as close as directly insulting ones intelligence as it can get. They are acting as if God himself withdrew from tennis today...its completely nuts! "Shock this!" "shock that"!
Seriously what the hell? Are they so frigging desperate to promote her? Is she paying them? Cause if she is then I can simply relax because I can actually justify all this buttkissing... If you read the latest article it looks like an article that could easily have the title "Serena withdraws from Cincinati, we dont care what happens now (except McHale), the whole event should be canceled and we might not write anything else about it. See you all in USO..."
Pathetic to say the least...I am actually hoping McHale can have a good carreer cause these guys will probably live a life full of depression.... and if the unthinkable happens and a Russian (Maria!) wins the USO this year? Oh Lord.... I can already envision the article title:
"Maria Sharapova wins 2011 USO Grand Slam. Meh...."
lol
Boycott is a pretty good idea, Val.
If one really needs WTA stats or something, you can do this: Google WTA & the first hit will show linx directly to OOPS, Draws, Player bios, Rankings, etc--WITHOUT ever hitting their main page or bullshit "news".
Agree--I have NO animus, even hold affection in some cases--for wildwoman Bethanie, for McHale, Riske, Stephens & other young Americans striving to honestly contend. Or most of the guys, either.
For the most part, they are not contaminated with the demented pretensions of hegemony attached to the symbols of Williams & Roddick. A few, like doubles specialists Vania King & Lisa Raymond, have implicitly distanced themselves from the corruption.
The bias consuming WTA is NOT even mainstream American opinion--rather the cold war politics of a geriatric country-club fringe. Unfortunately, in this moment of "tea party" brownshirts, you must not expect large numbers of my countrymen to call out this crap. It is the global tennis community that must demonstrate they're not gonna take it anymore.
