That's easy. MOST of the USO Series women's side is gonna be blacked out--'cause the Stanford "draw" is only the beginning of the cheap devices & downright cheating USTA-WTA will deploy to try & prop up Serena.

An exception may be Rogers Cup. The Canadians will not refrain from promoting their tournament. AND, as they see what's going down with broadcast in the States, might even punch it up a bit. LOL

USO slogan: "It must be love..."

TennisCanada slogan: "Love means nothing."

lol, I'm serious. Those ARE the respective tag-lines.

When ESPN2 & TTC begin broadcast with a Friday quarterfinal, there WILL be regular streams. See: http://www.myp2p.eu/broa...d=124028&part=sports

What happened to her serve? Think she lost her rhythm after a short vacation.?

Oohhhhh myy godddd. That was such a stressful match. She was playing so well in the first set, I don't know what threw her off! Thank god she won though!!! I am anticipating this Maria vs Serena match- I'm sure Maria knows she needs to pick it up even more now- as she usually does :D

Maria started well in the first set, in the second and in the beginning of the third she didn't play her best, but she was able to fight back and win the match. Proud of you Maria!

Thanks Paul for the link to the streaming, if it wansn't your post I woudn't be able to watch the match. Thanks!

Due to the time difference i slept my way through this one, but i woke up in time to "see" Maria seal the deal. Live score on danish tv can be a problem, you do not know if there is a rain delay when there is a standstill in the update. Sometimes it just means that the person doing the update went for coffee, went to the bathroom or fell a sleep. Well who cares the right woman won and that´s all that matters.
Since i haven´t seen the match i don´t know anything about matchstats so i will continue drinking my coffee.

Take care everyone, and congrats´on the win Maria.

Maria gave us a scare but she is tough and never gives up and thats why we love her! Seriously the way this girl approaches the game when the odds are against her is astounding!

First set she was simply amazing, in total control. In the second one, a couple of things happened that changed the tides. First of all Dani elevated her game for sure. Secondly, luck was also on Dani's part, yes she palyed better, but really some of her shots/points were simply lucky. At the same time Maria lost her momentum, made too many DF and unforced erros and well...the set was gone. Up to that point I was like "ok she will get it done in the 3rd".

But when she was down 0-2 in the 3rd I really got worried and thought she was in serious trouble. But then she just showed what a great heart she has and what a champion she is. She got back in the court and came back with a 4-2! Simply awesome worth all the sleep I sacrificed haha!

I hope that she will look at that 3rd set to build up her confidence (rather than the opposite) for the upcoming matches! She needs more consistency with her serve. When her serve is working it is devastating for the opponent. When it is not, it will probably end up either with a DF or an unforced error. I am sure she will fine tune it soon enough!

Go Maria! Good luck in friday and we'd like to see more of that 1st and 3rd set Maria!

I missed Maria's first match but reading through the posts and the interview it sounded like Maria fought well to come through as usual. It is good preparation for meeting with Serena if it comes to that. If Serena loses she will say her usual pompous quote. 'I didn't play my best tennis.' I can't wait to watch the QF. Hope they play at a decent time.

Well done, Maria. Keep practising those serves please!!!

Here you go guys, highlights of Maria's first match in Stanford against Hantuchova! It is taken from the stream ofc, but thats the best we can do since the games are not broadcasted yet! Still it does the job especially for the people who cant watch the game live! Enjoy :)

PS: at 4:50 is the best point of the entire match imho! Awesome rally and point from Maria!

BTW. I just noticed, the way the ball moves in Stanford courts, it looks pretty fast? Much faster than the grass court in Wimbledon???

Mmmmm, strange question ! You must know that hardcourt ( concrete )  is much faster then grass ??

Ps; It's good to know that the Godess Nike is on the Olympic medals . Will it bring the luck that Maria needs ?

Wait. Maybe false alarm--yeah. Watched for an hour & deduced she was Kirilenko. Someone was taking pictures, so may be possible to verify.
