Maria postedArrived today in Rome a few days too early, but what a nice city. We are having major hotel issues but should be resolved soon. Don’t you hate when websites false advertise? I thought Maria was always staying in 5-star hotels or hotels assigned by a tournament director !? Now she might have to sleep under a bridge !? Interesting news. Never knew she has to look for a hotel herself !!!

Maybe Maria chose to do it herself? Wants to stay away from the other competitors and media following her every move. Now that Sasha is with her she needs a bit of privacy.

Here we go again! ANOTHER "Russian Quarter"!!!

http://www.wtatennis.com...posting/2011/709/MDS.pdf

MARIA IS ONE OF FIVE RUSSIANS PLUS VIKA IN HER QUARTER--WHEREAS THE OTHER QUARTERS HAVE ONLY ONE OR TWO EACH.

WHO WANTS TO TELL ME THIS "just happens"?  LIKE NOW EVERY DAMNED TIME?

This time the draw doesn't look good , Makarova, Peer, Azarenka, Woisniaki ! Is going to be difficult. On the other hand, none of the players is showing a solid performance this spring !!

Except for Azarenka. She's been great. Don't expect much from Maria after last week's performance. Let's hope she makes it to the quarters. I want to see her playing great soon... Best wishes to her.

Varvara Lepchenko (USA) -- émigrée player, former Soviet extraction but she appears to be cool. Varvara has qualified in Rome. Now, let us see where they choose to place her in this designer draw May learn something here.

Görges & Cibulkova withdrew from Rome, citing injuries. Revised draw:

BIGGER THAN SH!T--THEY STUCK VARVARA IN THE RUSSIAN QUARTER!!! Against Kleybanova in the first round, possibly to meet Masha in the 3rd!

That's the end of it. I will no longer credit ANYONE's contentions this crap is not designed! AND, we also KNOW now that Varvara Lepchenko, of Allentown PA, is a righteous girl. When WTA dumps on you, we know you're the real deal!

I have to admit there is some kind of anti-Russian conspiracy in the female tennis.

Is this Lepchenko still Russian?

Varvara is either ethnic Russian or Ukranian--former Soviet--born in Tashkent & originally played under the Uzbek flag. http://www.wtatennis.com...a-lepchenko_2257889_4939

Now she's an American citizen. They never used to involve her in this crap but THEN, she publicly expressed her admiration for Dementieva. It would appear WTA decided, "Okay, you like Rooskies, we'll treat you like one!"

Sometimes playing higher ranked players brings out the best in Maria. Problem with Maria is she always starts slow and by the time she plays her best it could be too late. Best of luck on Tuesday.

http://www.livescorehunt...es/Livescore-Tennis.html

Conditions on Court 10 (Mchale - Peng) are awful. (Blowing top coat) Can't seem to water it enough.

Check it out:

1st set 61 Dominguez (blowing dust); 2nd set 06 Barbora (dust blew the other way? ); 3rd set, Barbora had 52, then choked & would up losing a tiebreak 76(4).  That is so freakin' typical! I love to watch Barb's Briefs, but...

KATYA! 60 57 64 Makarova takes out defending champ MJMS.  Will play Masha.

Eurosport 2 cutting away from live action to replay Madrid final; Italy's SuperTennis also doing replays--clearly the WTA fix on who will be shown is in BIGTIME! :wtf:

Maria playing not before 7.30pm tomorrow. If they come on court on time I will be able to watch half hour of it as I will be out most of the evening!! Tough match for Maria but then Makarova might be a little tired from today's match.

Poor Kuzni is out already.

Hello Paul, everyone! (:

I'm not overwhelmed with confidence regarding Marias game at the moment so i'm hoping for something unexpected tonight, a simple 2 set win . She'll need some real impetus to advance deep here considering the draw, there are so many in form players right now.

................ Davai Maria!
