You know Phili started a perfectly reasonable Miami thread :\

On current form its hard to see past Woz, Princess, Bunny etc etc
I expect Maria to make the quarters though.... maybe.

Princess is fixed up to probably play Bethanie, who will put up a fight. A strong American player won't go down to Miami & roll over for Caro. Then, it's Dani or Oudin. After that it gets more interesting. But the way is paved for her IF she's up to it.


She's #1 seed, but she doesn't have the juice to get the total fix-up a sister can expect. Starting with Round of 16, I'm not so sure Caro goes through. There is a chance for a Russian to play the semifinal.


Down below, I don't think Clijsters is gonna last. No way to guess what you'll get from Schiavone, but there ain't gonna be any Bartoli coming out by default. I see a Slavic woman as that semifinalist.


That's what should go down. But we can't see what's going on in these early matches & there have already been a few results that are just wrong.

I expect Kim to do well. IMO she is the most consistent player out there.

I think that Caroline is playing a very consistent tennis and it's making difference on the WTA's tour, people like the way she play or not, it is undeniable that she deserves to be the number 1. I like the way she play, she is a very smart player. In the male tennis Djokovic is playing very consistently too, he hadn't lost this year yet. So, consistency is a key in tennis nowadays.
In my point of view Caroline has a great chance to win the tournament because her fitness is really good is hard to see she feeling tired. Kim has a chance but I don't know if she is fully recovered, Vera is stronger too but she is not playing so consitently since her title in Doha. Maria it depends because she does good games but she sometimes give a lot of points to her opponents so it's hard to say how far she can go in Miami, hope she can do at least quarters. I believe that she can, but she has to serve consistently and reduce the unforced erros.

Anyway now is just wait and see what happens!

yeah caro is really consistent since she ranked no.1 in the WTA..but masha had been there a couple of times already, i know she's been struggling since she returned in the court from that injury, but she's making herself better in tennis and u cant underestimate a heart of a champ..she'll be fine..have high hopes for her, if she will not win in Miami, i know she can win many more tournys..she's young and really has a skill in this sport..lets be patient.only right time can tell..go masha

I have watched Masha&Vika playing their tennis. They have the same style, they use long dangerous balls. BUT Masha plays a more agressive tennis and her serves are better when she avoids DFs of course.


So I think that Masha will be the winner of this tournament.


This town Miami is also very important for her. It is the place where she started playing tennis in the US. The crowd knows her very well and will support her. She will be motivated.


I will conclude by saying that Masha has more chances to win this tournament. But you never have to underestimate your opponent. You should be always ready to fight strongly and have a good sleep the last night. Sleep is also important.

I watched the match only yesterday. I must agree with Dart bout the style, had that mirrorvision again.

The first set was all Vika, Masha was shit, got even very frustrated. The way she came back from 4-0 was impressive,

just like that second Pet-set. We'll never know, but what if Masha had returned 5-5? Lots of work ahead

on those UE and other "mistakes". Overall i enjoyed that second set very much. Bravo for the winner; Vika

was the BEST...no doubt about that!!
