Seems the US Fed Cup team has acquired Mary Jo Fernandez as a coach for 2008. This is by way of making Fernandez the team's captain starting 2009. lol

Fernandez was a champion in her day and you can't take that away from her. But I'm not holding my breath to see her weld fellow thirty-something Davenport and whichever Williams sister is up to play into an overwhelming force. Rather, one suspects the choice of Fernandez has more to do with her recent tenure as one of ESPN2's Three Witches--when you don't got game, you throw a lot of mouth at it instead.

We'll see, but Mary Jo is for sureĀ not the female Tarpischev. [:P]

My point is, for the last three-four years, I've watched that clutch of former players posturing like--if they were back in the game--they'd show the young stars how they're supposed to play tennis. Okay, Mary Jo, now show us what you've got. [H]

Sadly, I don't think she could show us anything! All bark and no bite!

One of the very few things I hate about tennis are the commentators who talk like they know everything and worse they feel like they can do everything better!!![:@]
