Yes, we shall see whether the Hallenstadion "home court" advantage works for Patty as well as the Olympiyskiy favored Elena D.

I'm afraid, however, that my Eurosport stream will run only through Mauresmo's match. Have to see if there are other webcasts from Zürich .

Good. The schedule posted last week had them cutting off at 17:15. But it is past that now and I'm still watching Mauresmo-Daniilidou. They hadn't scheduled to go to live rugby until 19:00 anyway, so maybe they'll hang with Zürich through Schnyder-Williams. [H]

Serena couldn't hack it. Retired after 6-0, 3-0.

Well I guess 3 tournaments back to back was just tooooo much.

In Retrospect, i wonder if Maria, in her present condition would have fared any better...and originally she had planned to do Stuttgart, Moscow, Zurich AND Linz, back to back.

Anyway, 60 points comes in useful. She's already qualified for YEC.

I didn't get to see that glorious thirty minutes. [:P] I'm still checking around but it looks like I'm limited to the matches streamed specifically by Eurosport France, and they went to rugby after Mauresmo's match. (Big country like Russia, I had a couple of additional portals, but Switzerland seems to have no domestic webcasts of the tournament. Maybe the Russian outlets will go live or at least rerun their girls' Zürich matches.)

It would never have been four. I think it was always either Stuttgart or Moscow and the weight was for Moscow. I'll engage in hypotheticals to a point. (Like that Seoul obviously belonged to Kiri had not Venus been slumming) but, no, I don't "know" that Masha would have done any good. To be entirely fair, even to Serena, everyone is worn down by this point and the elite eight are conserving what energy they have left for the YEC. That's a problem these late tournaments confront every year.

Serena made a show out of it, being so humble and friendly to Patty.

Great actrice !

It' s somekind of an alibi for Maria, a revenge, all these other girls have to

face( deal ) with Serena instead of Masha.

Well, that's what I thought too a couple times before and was burned for it. I don't like her but NEVER count her out. I'm still convinced Maria would've won the Australian Open back in '05 if she converted 1 of those 3 matchpoints against Serena...and I won't forget what happened this year at the same tournament. Brings back a bad memories.

Yep, I saw Serena beat Maria's arse two times this year, and it hurts...
