The S.I. layout is fantastic!! The other models in the S.I. issue seem to lack something in their expressions, whereas Maria's face portrays honesty, integrity, and an innocence that I hope she never loses....Maria, you're the best, Thanks for doing the S.I. shoot!!!! Love you....

Didn't say i didn't like her...I am actually a big fan.

I was a little exasperated that one could describe someone in a bikini shoot as being innocent. It really doesn't make sense.

And people say \"she has a great body\" what the hell d oyou expect...she is a sports star.

Are you kidding yourself...The people you have mentioned all have good bodies...sure they haven't got the venis de milo body maria has but the yare still nice.

The bikini isn't the the thing im talking about...it is the idea behind it...That article was clearly targeted at men...advertising Maria's body to get a few men to crack a fat...consider the poses she is striking...hands and knees? Clearly not sunshine, lollypops and rainbows.

Photo shoots like these are only selling one thing: sex.

Maria is a gorgeous girl, with hoards and hoards of fans who would die to see her in a bikini, so it was done. No doubt it brought SI (and Masha) a hell of a lot of money.

It's quite simple really. They are portraying Maria as a sex symbol which appeals to those who don't particularly like tennis (given that will mainly be older men, but there might be others). This in turn gives Maria a huge appeal to a wide range of people.

It's not innocent, theres no way a shoot like that could be giving connotations of naivity and innocence, but to say she looks like a prostitute is extremely harsh. It was done tastefully and with a certain degree of class. It's not exactly spread eagle in front of a Harley Davidson with neon signs reading 'GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS!' in the background is it?

Plus it's obvious she had a good time during the shoot and it was something she wanted to do, who are we to stop her? It's not like somone forced her at gun point to get half naked on a beach.

Maria is also has a plainly clear understanding of what these photos are all about; she said herself \"I'm sure the teenage boy fans will like it\". We did Maria. We really did.
