I like the Reporter thingy in Elena D.'s site. It's such a good idea.
Having the fans interact with their stars. Hope Maria does something
like that....Huh?

I'm always behind the Elegant One. [H] (On the occasions when she plays Masha, I abstain from rooting. Masha is usually gonna win--but not always.)

Elena's play has stayed at a fairly high level lately. Couldn't tell much from the early rounds here, as I don't think either K Bondarenko or Dushevina really challenged her much. JJ is playing well enough, but it was pretty much the same deal with her matches. Dementieva is competitive.

Go Elena!

And you were right. [H] I was going to rag on JJ the drama queen's hilarious delaying antics, but I'm so satisfied with Elena's comprehensive win over Ivanovic that I'm not into poking fun at her compatriot.

I'll enjoy tomorrow's final much like I do when Elena plays Masha. I'm pulling for Elena but I can't exactly be [U] if Dinara pulls it out--she having worked so hard. Both of them now stand to gain several ranking points either way--Elena passes Chaki now, perhaps Serena if she wins the tournament--plus of course the $$$.

That headline is rather like the commentators, isn't it? Before the match, big trumpeting "Ana favorite," with NO MENTION of the head-to-head. During the match, how "shocked" the crowd must be. AFTER the fact, "Oh, well, it was to be expected..." LOL! [H] They're so full of it.

Elena will not play Rome. In the week before Roland Garros, she will defend her title at Istanbul instead. [H]

Y'all are most welcome. [H] That is on Elena's site. I hope they'll put up one of Elena's mum from today's match. Did you see Vera Dementieva wearing partial hijab? [:)] That surprised me. I wouldn't know Bursa silk if I saw it but I'm guessing that's what that pretty silver-white scarf might be.

Congrats to Elena on today's victory. [H] She got Domachowska's number during that Warsaw exo. Her next opponent, Olga Govortsova, is new to her. This tall young Belarussian is a tough competitior but her game seens somehow... limited. If you want to see Govortsova play, her match today with Ai Sugiyama was streamed by Tennis Channel and will be in their archives later today:
